Can't review rooms as I wasn't staying, but the hotel had a very welcoming, calm style and I enjoyed a late breakfast of coffee and danish in a stunning spacious sunny restaurant overlooking a beautiful harbour ( too hot to be outside). There's a Monday Club after every Tiree Music Festival for those who can't get tickets on the ferry back to Oban until Tuesday. Can't wait!
I picked this place for a solo trip to Tiree, and because it was close to the Ferry terminal. They had a nice small restaurant, and the chef was able to accommodate my Gluten Free diet. It's a small establishment, and as a solo traveler, I enjoyed chatting with the staff. The place is very clean and clearly very recently refurbished, with nice clean lines and light colors. That said: know it is very rural! There is the Tiree Sea adventure outfit nearby, I was told you can rent a bike and and the small bar at the hotel, and the beach. It's the first time I have ever gone to sleep at a hotel with a noisy....lamb outside the window making a fuss. So bring a book and prepare to relax. The waves make a nice backdrop.
Overall a very good stay. The location is unbeatable, overlooking a small bay, very close to the co-op shop and coffee kiosk in the little settlement of Scarinish. Staff were very friendly and helpful, if a bit rushed. Breakfast (included) was very good and made to order, and the pub was relaxed and pleasant. Free coffee and tea all day was appreciated. My room was a bit quirky - right over the kitchen so I was treated to the kitchen staff’s playlist on the evenings but fortunately they turned the music down before it got too late. Bathroom was across the hall (private, but not en suite) and the shower would have been a tight fit for anyone taller or wider than me. Bed was very comfortable, room had a nice minimalist bare-wood vibe. It looks like there are still a few kinks to be ironed out as this business re-opens with its new management, but it has all the makings of a very good place to stay or have a drink. I would definitely stay again.
